We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated full-time Staff Orthopedic Surgeon to join our dynamic Orthopedics team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care within a collaborative healthcare environment. The successful candidate will deliver exceptional surgical and non-surgical treatment, contribute to patient recovery, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough evaluations of orthopedic conditions through physical examinations, medical history assessments, and diagnostic imaging such as X-rays, MRI, and CT scans.
Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate both surgical and non-surgical options tailored to individual patient needs.
Perform a wide spectrum of orthopedic surgical procedures, including joint replacements, fracture repairs, arthroscopy, and other advanced interventions.
Provide pre-operative counseling and post-operative care to ensure patient safety, optimal recovery, and satisfaction.
Collaborate closely with primary care providers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and rehabilitation specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Participate in rotating on-call coverage to support the orthopedic service, ensuring continuous patient care availability.
Maintain meticulous and complete documentation of patient evaluations, treatment plans, surgical procedures, and outcomes in accordance with clinical standards.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and care strategies.
Stay current with the latest advancements in orthopedic surgery through continuing medical education, conferences, and workshops.
Adhere to ethical standards, professional guidelines, and hospital policies, including patient confidentiality and informed consent.
Utilize proficiency in orthopedic surgical techniques, incorporating the newest innovations and evidence-based practices.
Qualifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
Valid medical license to practice in Vermont.
Current CPR certification.
Demonstrated excellence in diagnostic and problem-solving skills within orthopedic practice.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster positive patient relationships and effective teamwork.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy, patient safety, and quality care.
Dedication to ongoing professional development and staying informed of emerging trends and research in orthopedic surgery.
Additional Requirements:
Candidates must be able to commute within an hour of the practice location.
No visa sponsorship is available.
Not open to locum or locum-to-perm candidates.
Candidates planning to work this role in conjunction with another position are not eligible.
Compensation & Benefits:
Hourly Pay Rate: $19.50
Annualized Salary Range: $300,000 to $360,000, compliant with Vermont Act 155.
