We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to provide exceptional rehabilitative care across diverse patient populations. What You Will Do:
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will independently manage a caseload of patients, delivering evidence-based therapy services in inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, and acute care settings. Your expertise will contribute to patient recovery plans for conditions such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, amputations, orthopedic surgeries, and more. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, utilize hospital-specific electronic medical records, and ensure that patients receive personalized, effective treatment in a well-organized setting.
Required Skills:
Current LA PTA license.
Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision.
Experience with patient populations including orthopedic, neurological, and medically complex cases.
Strong communication skills to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in EMR systems such as Meditech Expanse, Wellsky, and EPIC.
Knowledge of departmental equipment and documentation procedures.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with acute inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient therapy.
Familiarity with additional certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or NIHSS.
Prior experience working with trauma, spinal patients, or pediatrics.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Minimum of 1+ years of experience in a similar specialty setting.
Prior travel therapy experience is a plus; first-time travelers will be considered based on experience and skill set.
Other Requirements:
No weekend coverage for outpatient; minimal weekend or holiday shifts in inpatient and acute care settings.
Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
Free parking available.
Professional dress code and pewter scrubs for inpatient; optional outpatient attire.
