Atrium Health Navicent’s Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital in Macon, Georgia, is seeking a highly qualified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) to join our dedicated team of neonatologists and NNPs. Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive acute and chronic neonatal care in a state-of-the-art Level-III NICU serving a diverse and complex patient population.
Collaborate seamlessly with attending neonatologists, multidisciplinary teams, and subspecialty support to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Conduct thorough assessments, develop treatment strategies, and perform procedures pertinent to neonatal care within the NICU.
Manage a full scope of neonatal health issues, including ventilatory support, nitric oxide therapy, and brain cooling procedures.
Serve as a clinical instructor and mentor for medical students and residents, including participation in clinical appointments at Mercer Medical School.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
Provide guidance and support to family members to ensure supportive, compassionate care.
Shift Details:
Variable shifts including 10-hour daytime shifts Monday to Thursday, 8-hour weekend shifts, and 16-hour night shifts with no on-call responsibilities.
Schedule flexibility designed to promote work-life balance and sustain long-term professional engagement.
Qualifications:
Current certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) by a recognized certifying body; FNP or PNP certifications are not acceptable.
Minimum of two (2) years of recent, full-time NNP clinical experience in a neonatal intensive care setting; recent graduates or those with less than two years’ experience will not be considered.
Proven ability to manage high-acuity neonates with confidence and professionalism.
Experience with advanced neonatal procedures such as high-frequency ventilation, nitric oxide administration, and neonatal cooling therapies preferred.
Must hold a valid state license to practice as an NNP in Georgia or be eligible for licensure.
