Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Ashtabula, OH

Overview:
Ashtabula Regional Medical Center (ARMC), an affiliate of the Cleveland Clinic, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our multidisciplinary team. Located on the scenic Lake Erie shoreline, Ashtabula offers a vibrant community environment within easy reach of Cleveland, Ohio, and Erie, Pennsylvania. This position provides a rewarding opportunity to deliver comprehensive cancer care within a collaborative, community-focused hospital setting.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Manage an outpatient caseload of approximately 15-20 patients daily, with an additional 3-5 hospital-based patients.
  • Provide specialized hematology and oncology services, with approximately 50% adult and 50% geriatric patient populations.
  • Collaborate closely with two physicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities, averaging 10 days per month, to support patient needs beyond scheduled hours.
  • Utilize EPIC electronic medical records system for comprehensive documentation and care coordination.
  • Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care across both outpatient and inpatient environments, emphasizing patient education and support.
  • Maintain current clinical practice licensing and certifications, adhering to hospital protocols and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct clinical experience as an NP or PA in a hematology/oncology setting (hospital or clinic).
  • Board Certified in respective field; active ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex patient cases independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster patient trust and team collaboration.
  • Must reside within a 40-mile radius of Ashtabula or be willing to relocate.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, outpatient-centered practice environment.

Certifications & Certifications Required:
  • Board Certification in Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant discipline.
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support).
