Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join our team on a permanent basis in Peterborough, NH. This role involves providing exemplary critical care within a 2-bed step-down unit, with responsibilities extending to float coverage across Medical-Surgical and ICU units. Key Responsibilities:
Prescribe and coordinate comprehensive nursing care for assigned ICU patients, adhering to established hospital policies, medical directives, and professional standards.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams across shifts to ensure seamless patient care and continuity.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) using Allscripts Paragon.
Monitor patient vital signs, administer injections and vaccinations, and perform other clinical duties as required.
Provide care in a dynamic environment, including floating to Medical-Surgical units and other ICU areas as needed, without hesitation.
Participate in a structured orientation program (4-6 weeks) with hands-on training before independent practice.
Engage in ongoing education, protocol updates, and quality improvement initiatives to uphold standards of care.
Relate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to foster a supportive care environment.
Qualifications:
Valid RN license to practice in New Hampshire.
Minimum of one year of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience.
Proficiency in EMR systems, specifically Allscripts Paragon.
Ability to read and interpret vital signs accurately and administer injections/vaccinations.
Certification in ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association required).
Flexibility to float across units as needed, with a positive attitude towards team-based care.
Strong communication, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
Schedule & Work Environment:
Night shifts (specific hours to be coordinated during onboarding).
Patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1, with a focus on providing high-quality, individualized patient care.
Supportive orientation and unit tour during the interview process.
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (paid as $5,000 upon start, $2,500 after 6 months, and $2,500 after 1 year).
