Job Title: Registered Nurse – Emergency Room / Med/Surg / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Float (Nights)
Location: Claremont, NH
Shift: Night Shifts

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at our rural facility in Claremont, NH. This full-time, permanent position offers the opportunity to work across various departments, including Emergency Room, Medical-Surgical, Progressive Care Unit, and Float roles. The ideal candidate must be capable of working independently, demonstrating adaptability, and providing high-quality patient-centered care in a small, community-focused setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to diverse patient populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Perform thorough head-to-toe assessments and ongoing reassessments based on patient condition and facility policies.
  • Manage and evaluate pain effectively, employing appropriate pain management techniques and educating patients and families.
  • Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans considering each patient’s response to treatment and evolving needs.
  • Administer medications accurately, adhering strictly to the six rights of medication safety, and understanding their use based on patient age and clinical status.
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, promptly identifying and responding to dysrhythmias in accordance with ACLS protocols.
  • Assess and monitor hemodynamic and nutritional statuses, managing fluid and electrolyte balance when necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care, assist with procedures, and adapt care strategies in real-time.
  • Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care to promote understanding and compliance.
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely, ensuring clear communication within the healthcare team.
  • Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety standards and hospital policies.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, strong organizational skills, and resilience under stressful or emergency situations.

Qualifications:
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the state of New Hampshire or appropriate compact state licensure.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Prior experience in ER, Med/Surg, PCU, or rural healthcare settings preferred.
  • Ability to perform complex assessments and respond swiftly in emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a strong capacity to work independently.
