Position Overview:
The Director of Transplant Services plays a vital leadership role in developing, implementing, and managing the transplant program within Parkland Health. This position is responsible for establishing a strategic framework that ensures the program's clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and community engagement. The successful candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, collaborate with external partners, and drive innovations in transplant care delivery. Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Program Medical Director and executive leadership to define and execute the program’s strategic vision, aligning clinical operations with organizational goals.
Operational Oversight: Ensure seamless day-to-day operations of the transplant services, optimizing workflow, patient access, and care coordination across the continuum.
Program Development: Design and implement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes, patient experience, and program growth. Develop and oversee health professional training, patient education, and community outreach programs to increase program effectiveness and community awareness.
Quality and Compliance: Lead efforts to attain and maintain accreditation with relevant regulatory bodies. Monitor clinical and financial outcomes, leveraging data to identify improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement: Foster collaborative relationships with physicians, staff, community partners, and external organizations to align care standards, improve quality metrics, and support community health initiatives.
Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and grant management to ensure fiscal responsibility and sustainability of the program.
Team Leadership: Supervise assigned staff, promoting professional development, motivating team members, and ensuring high-performance standards.
Community and Professional Representation: Represent Parkland Health at national and local conferences, organizations, and initiatives to enhance professional excellence, networking, and community engagement.
Regulatory and Certification Efforts: Co-chair committees focused on accreditation, recognition, and compliance initiatives to uphold program standards.
Innovation and Payment Models: Facilitate participation in Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS) Innovation initiatives and other alternative payment models aimed at improving patient access and engagement.
Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge of transplant medicine, healthcare standards, and clinical best practices.
Proven experience managing complex clinical programs, with a solid understanding of healthcare data management and accreditation processes.
Demonstrated ability in strategic planning, operational management, and process improvement.
Exceptional leadership skills, with a track record of motivating multidisciplinary teams and fostering effective partnerships.
Strong communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences, including physicians, staff, community members, and external stakeholders.
Proficiency in fiscal management, including budgeting, grant writing, and resource allocation.
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field; a master's degree or higher (e.g., MSN, MHA, MBA) is preferred.
Certification or extensive experience in transplant services or a related specialty is advantageous.
