What You’ll Do
Assist in grossing and processing surgical pathology specimens, primarily benign lesions and some complex resections
Prepare and select tissue for pathology, karyotyping, and research purposes
Support specimen procurement for research and clinical cases
Collaborate with laboratory team to manage workload and ensure timely processing of specimens
Follow all safety and procedural protocols to maintain lab quality standards
Contribute to research and clinical duties as required
What You Need
Valid PA (ASCP) certification required
Minimum 1 year of experience working in a pathology lab setting
Strong knowledge of gross specimen handling and pathology procedures
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
About the Assignment
You will be working in the Doan Laboratory, processing specimens from a university hospital operating room. The focus will be on benign lesions, biopsies, and some cancer resections. The position offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for research procurement and tissue processing.
