This vital role involves working in our Doan lab, processing specimens from the University Hospital OR, predominantly benign lesions, with opportunities to assist in colon cancer resections and native liver cases. Your work will support diagnostic accuracy, research initiatives, and contribute to advances in healthcare.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
Certification as a Pathologists' Assistant (ASCP)
Minimum of 2 years relevant laboratory experience
Proficient in gross specimen dissection, tissue procurement, and histological techniques
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to follow laboratory safety protocols and guidelines
Nice to Have:
Experience with research specimen processing
Familiarity with karyotyping and biopsy grossing
Prior experience working with benign and malignant tissue samples
Knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS)
Preferred Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Histotechnology, or a related field
At least 2 years of practical experience as a Pathologists' Assistant in a clinical or research setting
Other Requirements:
Medical screening including vaccinations and background check prior to start date
Willingness to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
This position is scheduled from 09:30 to 18:00, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per shift
