Are you a dedicated Physical Therapist looking for a rewarding opportunity in a critical access hospital setting? Join our team to make a meaningful impact on patient recovery in a supportive, outpatient-focused environment. This position offers the chance to work with a close-knit team at a small 20-bed facility that is dual-certified for acute care and swingbed services, providing diverse clinical experiences in inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.
In this role, you will evaluate and assist with outpatient visits, averaging about 8 patients per day, while also supporting inpatient therapy needs, including assessments and visits for PTAs. The position is primarily outpatient, with no weekends or call required, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule. The shift is a consistent day 5x8-hour schedule from 08:00 to 16:30, starting March 2, 2026.
Required Skills
Valid Mississippi State PT License
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
Experience with Epic EMR system
Strong evaluation and patient management skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to Have Skills
Experience working in a critical access or rural hospital setting
Prior exposure to swingbed or inpatient rehabilitation
Ability to mentor or collaborate with PTAs
Familiarity with rural healthcare challenges
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy
At least 1 year of outpatient and inpatient therapy experience
Other Requirements
Willingness to be part of an "Emergency Team" if required during urgent events—details to be provided by the unit manager, and pay during such events will vary.
No travel or extensive accommodations needed beyond employment requirements
Valid licensure and certifications up to date
