Internal Medicine Hospitalist – Full-Time Position
Location: Dothan, Alabama
Overview:
We are seeking a full-time, Board-Certified Internal Medicine Hospitalist to join our dynamic, hospital-employed hospitalist team at Southeast Health in Dothan, Alabama. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing practice in a reputable regional medical center serving a diverse patient population across multiple age groups and socio-economic backgrounds.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive inpatient care for unassigned patients presenting to the Emergency Department requiring hospital admission.
Manage transfers and perform in-hospital consultations across various medical specialties.
Collaborate with intensivists to admit, co-manage, and treat adult patients within the critical care setting.
Participate in a 7-days-on, 7-days-off schedule with 12-hour daytime shifts (7 am – 7 pm), averaging a minimum of 12 shifts per month, with flexibility for scheduling adjustments.
Support adult ICU patients, including those requiring ventilator management, with 24/7 pulmonary and critical care backup.
Utilize EPIC EMR to document and coordinate patient care efficiently.
Engage in limited coverage for select primary care patients of private practices, as needed.
Work alongside a multidisciplinary team supported by advanced subspecialty, radiology, and APP resources.
Qualifications:
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
Completion of an Internal Medicine residency program.
Board certification in Internal Medicine.
Alabama medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced inpatient setting.
