What You’ll Do:
Float to Oncology Medical-Surgical units within a correctional facility as needed
Ensure patient and staff safety in a secure correctional environment
Administer medications, including cardiac drips and IV therapies
Monitor patient vital signs and manage complex medical conditions, including oncology and hematology diagnoses
Document care using EPIC system accurately and efficiently
Respond to emergencies with appropriate interpretation and intervention
Support multidisciplinary teams including pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and rapid response teams
Manage specialized equipment such as external CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and feeding tubes
Provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population with active cancer diagnoses or other serious conditions
Follow all protocols for maintaining safety and security within the correctional setting
What You Need:
Valid RN license in Ohio or state of practice
BLS certification required
Experience with EPIC electronic charting
Oncology or medical-surgical experience preferred
Ability to handle complex patient needs in a correctional environment
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills

This assignment takes place in a correctional health unit managed by a leading facility in Columbus, Ohio. The unit specializes in oncology and general medical-surgical care for inmates, with a focus on safety, security, and quality patient outcomes. The RN will support both inpatient and outpatient populations on night shifts, working closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team.
