What You’ll Do
Provide direct patient care to adult inmates in a secure corrections environment with active oncology diagnoses
Float to various Oncology Medical-Surgical units as needed, managing complex patient conditions
Administer medications, IV therapy, and monitor cardiac telemetry, including dysrhythmias
Assist with procedures such as feeding tube management, hemodialysis, and respiratory support (CPAP/BIPAP)
Document patient care accurately using EPIC and Pyxis medication system
Ensure staff safety and patient safety within a locked correctional setting
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including pharmacy, radiology, social services, and respiratory therapy
What You Need
Valid Nursing License in Ohio or eligible for reciprocity
BLS certification (required)
Experience in medical-surgical, telemetry, or oncology nursing preferred
EPIC charting experience is required
Strong skills in telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration, and patient safety
Ability to adapt to a correctional environment and a rotating shift schedule

This assignment involves working in a correctional health unit managed by Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections. The unit features secure, locked facilities with controlled access, and requires nurses to provide compassionate, expert care to adult inmates with oncology and other complex health needs. The role requires flexibility across different units, with a focus on safety, documentation accuracy, and patient-centered care.
