What You Will Do:
As a PCU Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, individualized patient care with a focus on complex conditions such as burns, reconstructive surgeries, urology, GYN, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial procedures. You will perform specialized procedures including burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy, ensuring the highest standards of safety and comfort. You will utilize systems like EPIC for documentation and Pyxis for medication management, collaborating with multidisciplinary support teams to optimize patient outcomes. Your role is essential to providing seamless care during overnight hours, ensuring every patient receives attentive, compassionate, and expert nursing support.
Required Skills:
Valid RN license in good standing
Minimum of 2+ years recent experience in a PCU or similar critical care/detox setting
Proficiency in using electronic health records (preferably EPIC) and medication systems (Pyxis)
Strong assessment, critical thinking, and multi-tasking abilities
Ability to perform specialized procedures such as burn dressings and flap checks
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior charge nurse or leadership experience
Experience working in a teaching hospital or complex clinical environment
Certifications in advanced wound care or specialized procedures
Bilingual abilities or other language skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree preferred
Over 2 years of recent PCU experience in a similar patient population
Other Requirements:
Availability to work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on an every other or third weekend schedule
Flexibility to float within the OSU system as needed
Willingness to travel or work additional shifts as required
Active licensure, certifications, and compliance with all hospital and licensing standards
