Exciting Opportunity: PCU Registered Nurse

Join our dedicated healthcare team as a PCU Registered Nurse and make a meaningful difference in a unique corrections medical setting. Be part of a dynamic team providing essential services in a secure Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections facility, supporting inmate health and safety with compassion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Float smoothly between Oncology Medical-Surgical units as needed.
  • Ensure staff and patient safety within a secure corrections environment.
  • Manage care for patients with active oncology diagnoses, surgical histories, COPD, sepsis, abnormal labs, pneumonia, and other medical conditions.
  • Utilize EPIC for all documentation, ensuring accurate and timely patient records.
  • Administer medications, IV therapy, and blood products while following protocols.
  • Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond effectively to emergencies using telemetry.
  • Support a multidisciplinary team including pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, and respiratory services.

Required Skills:
  • Valid RN license.
  • EPIC charting experience.
  • BLS certification.
  • Strong background in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and emergency response.
  • Proficiency in IV therapy, medication management, and infection control.
  • Ability to work in a secured corrections environment, maintaining safety and confidentiality.

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Oncology experience or training.
  • Knowledge of Hemodialysis, PICC line management, and advanced airway management.
  • Previous corrections healthcare experience.
  • Experience with Pyxis medication systems and other electronic health records.

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Active RN license in the state of Ohio.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Medical-Surgical or Telemetry units.
  • Prior oncology nursing experience preferred, but not required.

Other Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work weekend shifts, rotating days and nights.
  • Availability for 13-16 week contracts.
  • Valid BLS certification.
  • Ability to adapt to shift changes based on staffing needs.
  • Willingness to work in a secure correctional setting with access controlled by Corrections Officers.
  • Start date: February 23, 2026.
  • Hourly pay rate: $59.18.
