What You’ll Do
Provide nursing care in a secure correctional environment for adult inmates with oncology or other complex medical diagnoses
Float between Oncology Medical-Surgical (MS) and PCU units based on staffing needs
Administer medications, including IV therapy and blood products
Manage patients with diagnoses such as solid tumors, hematology, COPD, pneumonia, and post-surgical or other non-oncology conditions
Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond to emergency situations using telemetry
Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for documentation and medication management
Follow safety protocols unique to the correctional setting
Support multidisciplinary teams including pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
What You Need
Valid RN license in Ohio
BLS certification
At least 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical or Telemetry nursing experience
Experience with EPIC charting system (required)
Oncology experience is preferred but not mandatory
Strong assessment, communication, and crisis management skills

This contract at a Corrections Health Unit in Columbus involves providing specialized nursing care to adult inmates with complex medical needs, including oncology diagnoses. The unit is a secure, locked environment operated in partnership with Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, with a focus on safety and quality patient care.
