In this role, you'll be integral to delivering patient-centered care across a variety of oncology and medical-surgical units, including Bone Marrow Transplant, Leukemia, Hematology, and Surgical Oncology. Working within a comprehensive 318-bed Cancer Center, you'll promote infection prevention, patient safety, and high-quality outcomes, all while collaborating with a dedicated multidisciplinary team. This contract offers a 13-16 week engagement with flexible self-scheduling, allowing you to balance work and personal commitments effortlessly.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 2+ years of high-acuity PCU or higher level experience
Strong knowledge of acute care nursing practices
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Ability to float to Med/Surg and Oncology units
Exceptional patient assessment and critical thinking skills
Proficiency in infection control protocols and patient safety measures
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to Have Skills:
Oncology-specific experience (preferred but not required)
Prior experience with special procedures in cancer care
BMT, Hematology, or Urology specialty experience
Bilingual abilities are a plus
Preferred Education and Experience:
Valid RN license in good standing
Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
At least 2 years of recent high acuity nursing experience in an inpatient setting
Experience working in a comprehensive cancer or medical-surgical environment
Other Requirements:
Availability for night shifts (19:00 - 07:30, 3x12-hour shifts/week)
Ability to work variable weekends based on unit needs
No set schedule blocks; self-scheduling preferred
Willingness to comply with infection control and patient safety protocols
