PACU Registered Nurse | Night Shift | New Orleans, LA

  • Experience: PACU or Pre/Post Op background preferred, Critical Care Post Op experience advantageous


Pay & Benefits:
  • Pay Rate: $53.60 per hour

What You’ll Do:
  • Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and post-anesthesia care to adult and pediatric patients in a high-volume surgical setting
  • Float to pediatric PACU as needed, supporting all age groups in recovery phases
  • Assist with regional anesthesia, ECT, and patient stabilization during perioperative phases
  • Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts, bladder scanners, and Accuvein for patient care
  • Support a patient ratio of 1:2 during recovery and post-op care
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple surgical departments, including Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and Pulmonary Lab
  • Respond to emergency situations and participate in “Emergency Team” assignments if required


What You Need:
  • Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
  • ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications
  • Prior experience in PACU, Pre/Post Op, or Critical Care Post Op preferred
  • Ability to adapt quickly to a busy, high-volume environment
  • Strong patient assessment and communication skills


About the Assignment:
This assignment is with a leading healthcare organization in New Orleans, supporting surgical, procedural, and recovery services in a busy, multi-specialty environment. You'll be integral to a team caring for patients across various ages and procedures, ensuring safe and efficient recovery care during the night shift. The unit includes dedicated pediatric and adult recovery sections, with high-volume surgical and procedural cases across two floors. Successful candidates are those comfortable floating, collaborating, and adapting in a fast-paced setting.
