This vital role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality outpatient and inpatient care within a nationally recognized cancer institute, making a tangible difference in patients’ lives through comprehensive treatment, surgical support, and collaborative care.
Ideal candidates will possess strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while seamlessly integrating with multidisciplinary teams. You must be adept at conducting patient assessments, interpreting diagnostics, prescribing treatments, and assisting with surgical procedures including wound and drain care. Your expertise will support pre- and post-operative management, ensure smooth patient care transitions, and provide superb patient education and support.
Required Skills:
Active MN license for Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
Proven experience in surgical oncology, specifically Hepatobiliary/Pancreatic (HPB)
Ability to perform inpatient and outpatient care independently
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Proficiency in patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and interpretation of diagnostics
Ability to assist in surgical procedures and handle wound and drain care
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with trauma or complex surgical procedures
Additional certifications in surgical assist or wound care
Bilingual abilities to serve diverse populations
Prior experience in a high-volume oncology setting
Preferred Education and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
Minimum of 2 years of surgical oncology experience, preferably in HPB
Prior experience working in a hospital-based setting
Other Requirements:
Current Minnesota licensure
Ability to work Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
Willingness to assist in the operating room when needed
Willingness to participate in on-call or extra shift duties if required
