Join Our Team as a Surgery Oncology Physician Assistant – Make a Difference in Cancer Care

Are you a dedicated Physician Assistant with a passion for surgical oncology and improving patient outcomes? Abbott Northwestern Hospital, part of the esteemed Allina Health Cancer Institute, is seeking a highly skilled Surgery Oncology Physician Assistant (NP or PA) specializing in Hepatobiliary/Pancreatic (HPB) care. This full-time locum position offers an exceptional opportunity to work within a leading cancer institute known for clinical excellence, compassionate care, and innovative treatment programs. You’ll provide critical inpatient and outpatient support, collaborate with top-tier surgeons, and play a vital role in advancing cancer care for our diverse patient population.

Required Skills:
  • Current Minnesota medical license (required for immediate start)
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Experience in surgical oncology, specifically Hepatobiliary/Pancreatic procedures
  • Ability to perform independent outpatient care and inpatient duties
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment planning skills
  • Proficient in wound care, drain management, and assisting in surgical procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Prior experience in a high-volume cancer center
  • Familiarity with oncology care coordination and patient navigation
  • Experience with perioperative management and interdisciplinary collaboration

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Master's degree or higher in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in surgical oncology or related specialty
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Other Requirements:
  • Minnesota licensure for quick onboarding
  • Availability to start ASAP, with a start date of 03/09/2026
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday with day shifts (07:30 - 16:00)
  • Willingness to assist in procedures, inpatient rounds, and surgical support as needed
  • Additional certifications or travel reimbursements as applicable

This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $129.68, along with weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), paid sick leave, licensure and certification reimbursements, travel stipends when applicable, and a robust referral bonus program.
