In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures in the operating room. Your responsibilities will include preparing the OR, assisting during surgeries, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout. This position is integral to delivering high-quality surgical outcomes and supporting a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative setting.
Required Skills:
Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Minimum of 2 years of surgical nursing experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt to changing clinical priorities
Knowledge of OR protocols and infection control standards
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) procedures
Prior travel nursing experience
Additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or perioperative nursing certifications
Bilingual abilities to enhance patient communication
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree preferred
Proven track record in surgical nursing and OR settings
Familiarity with high-volume surgical units (10-25 cases per day)
Experience working with multiple shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
Other Requirements:
Flexible to work additional hours or be part of emergency response teams if needed
Comfortable with potential unit reassignments during emergency events
Ability to provide or be fitted with hospital-provided scrubs (green)
Willingness to travel or relocate temporarily for assignment
This position offers a competitive pay rate of $60.30 per hour, along with comprehensive benefits such as weekly pay via direct deposit, medical coverage, referral bonuses, paid sick leave, and reimbursements for licensure, certification, travel, and other eligible expenses.
