Required Skills:
Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
Valid nursing license in good standing
Proven experience with EPIC electronic medical record systems
Oncology experience, specifically ONS Chemotherapy Certification, preferred
Ability to perform complex procedures such as Bone Marrow Biopsies, Central Line Management, and Blood and Bone Marrow Transplants
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Ability to float within MS Oncology and other units as needed
Nice to Have Skills:
Certified Pediatric or Adult Oncology Nurse (OCN)
Experience with immunotherapy and investigational treatments
Knowledge of infection control protocols
Additional certifications such as CPI or advanced cardiac life support
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher
At least 2 years of oncology nursing experience, with demonstrated competency in chemotherapy administration and patient management
Prior experience working in a hospital or specialized oncology unit
Other Requirements:
Availability to work night shifts (19:00 – 07:30, 3x12-hour shifts per week)
Flexibility to work every other weekend and during holidays, particularly through Mardi Gras period (2/13 – 2/22)
Must be willing to float within MS Oncology and other MS units as necessary
Ability to navigate a patient ratio of approximately 1:5 to 1:6
Willingness to comply with all facility protocols and safety standards
This position offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $60.30, with weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits, and a robust referral bonus program.
