We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Oncology Registered Nurse to provide exceptional care in a dynamic, hybrid acuity PCU and Medical-Surgical unit specializing in hematologic and oncologic conditions. This is an excellent opportunity to advance your nursing expertise while working in a supportive environment that values your skills and commitment.
Key responsibilities include delivering comprehensive patient care for those with diagnoses such as leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and undergoing complex procedures like stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapy. The role requires proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy, central line management, and responding effectively to emergencies.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 1 year of recent MS/Telemetry and Oncology nursing experience
Strong knowledge of telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
Skilled in blood product administration, central line and PICC management
Competent in feeding tube care and respiratory support
Ability to use Rapid Response Teams effectively
Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking capabilities
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with Hematology/Oncology procedures and transplants
Additional certifications such as ACLS and Oncology Nursing Certifications
Knowledge of chemotherapy protocols (certification not mandatory)
Preferred Education and Experience:
Valid RN license
At least one year of recent experience in an Oncology or Medical-Surgical/Telemetry setting
Experience with stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapies is highly desirable
Other Requirements:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Additional certifications like ACLS and Oncology Nurse Certification preferred
Shift availability for 12-hour day or night rotations; specific shift (19:00 - 07:30) based on scheduling needs
Willingness to work a rotating schedule including days and nights
Eligibility and ability to travel (if applicable)
Flexibility to adapt to department needs as scheduling is reviewed periodically
