We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Occupational Therapist to join our award-winning Level II Trauma Center in Topeka, Kansas. This full-time, 26-week contract position offers a dynamic working environment where your skills will directly impact patient recovery and well-being. Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (KSBHA required)
NBCOT certification preferred
BLS certification within first 90 days if not already held
Experience in acute care hospital environments
Proficiency in chart reviews, patient evaluations, and developing treatment plans
Ability to transfer patients with lines and drains safely
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Comfortable managing 7-8 patients per shift across diverse medical disciplines including med-surg, neuro, ortho, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, surgical, ICU, and joint replacement
Nice to Have Skills:
Epic EMR experience
Previous experience in Level II Trauma Centers
Ability to work collaboratively with PTs and other healthcare professionals
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Prior experience in acute care settings, especially trauma or specialty units
Familiarity with hospital workflows and multidisciplinary teams
Other Requirements:
Must be available to start on 05/18/2026
Willingness to work 8-hour day shifts, Monday through Friday, with rotation for late joints (ending by 6:30 PM at the latest)
No weekend shifts or call responsibilities
Travel and licensure reimbursements available as applicable
