What You Will Do:
  • Perform quality control on nuclear medicine equipment and devices, troubleshooting and maintaining them to ensure precise and reliable results.
  • Collaborate with physicians to determine the most appropriate procedures, facilitating effective diagnostic outcomes.
  • Accurately document all laboratory operations, including receipt and disposition of radioactive materials, quality control data, patient procedures, and medical records.
  • Exercise judgment in conducting scheduled examinations, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve workflows and enhance customer satisfaction, offering recommendations for process enhancements.
  • Provide clinical instruction to radiology students and residents, fostering educational growth and professional development.
  • Stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine by attending seminars, reading industry journals, and participating in professional organizations such as the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Maintain licensure from the Texas Department of Health and incorporate new knowledge into daily practice.
  • Maintain positive interdepartmental relationships with coworkers, physicians, nurses, residents, and patients to promote ongoing cooperation.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, policies, and accreditation standards, developing effective controls to maintain compliance.

Required Skills:
  • Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license from the Texas Department of Health
  • Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine
  • Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures, equipment, and safety protocols
  • Excellent documentation and record-keeping abilities
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot and perform equipment maintenance

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring radiology students and residents
  • Additional certifications in related radiologic fields
  • Knowledge of advanced imaging technologies and software

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting
  • Previous experience in a hospital or academic medical center environment

Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work Days shifts as scheduled
  • Willingness to perform tasks related to safety, compliance, and equipment maintenance
  • Travel and reimbursement considerations as applicable
  • Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are eligible for a local rate of $95
