Locum - Nurse Practitioner - General Medicine Houston, TX

What You Will Do:

Provide accurate and thorough Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments in a PRN capacity.

Operate independently using your own office space, with opportunities in Uvalde, TX, and Ft. Davis, TX, scheduling one day per week at each location.

Conduct interview-based exams and physical assessments, including range of motion and muscle strength tests.

Complete exams efficiently, document findings, and submit reports promptly.

No prescribing or treatment involved—focus solely on assessment and reporting.

Work flexible half-day (4-hour) or full-day (8-hour) shifts, with bonus incentives for complete onboarding.

Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including timely documentation and administrative follow-up.

Required Skills:

Licensed Nurse Practitioner in the state of Texas.

Experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery.

Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Familiarity with veteran health assessment procedures is a plus.

Nice to Have Skills:

Prior experience in compensation and pension exams.

Knowledge of military veteran healthcare requirements.

Proficiency with medical documentation software and portals.

Experience conducting physical assessments such as range of motion and muscle strength testing.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or higher.

Current Texas Nurse Practitioner license.

Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in internal or family medicine.

Experience with veteran or government-related assessments is advantageous.

Other Requirements:

Own office space for conducting exams (for Uvalde and Ft. Davis, TX locations).

Availability to work on a PRN basis, with flexibility for scheduled weekly days.

Willingness to complete required training, including certifications and portal onboarding.

Must adhere to all applicable health, safety, and compliance standards.

This position offers an hourly rate of $402.00, with additional flat rates for exam shifts and bonuses for completing onboarding and initial exams.
