Join our team as a Locum - NP/PA - Trauma Surgery in Robbinsdale, MN, and make a meaningful impact in a high-acuity trauma setting. This exciting opportunity offers flexible scheduling from May through July, enabling you to provide expert care to adult and adolescent trauma patients while working alongside a dedicated team of trauma surgeons and staff. Whether you're passionate about trauma critical care, procedures, or hospitalist rounding, this position allows you to utilize and expand your clinical skills in a dynamic environment with plenty of patient interaction.
Required Skills:
Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Minnesota or the ability to obtain licensure.
Proven experience in trauma, critical care, or emergency medicine.
Proficiency in trauma procedures such as chest tube insertion, central and arterial lines, and non-invasive ventilation management.
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload with confidence in diagnosing and treating trauma-related conditions.
Excellent communication skills and the capacity to respond swiftly to trauma alerts and ED admissions.
Competence in facilitating discharges and managing various patient conditions independently.
Familiarity with EPICTrauma Level I adult trauma care, including pediatric care capabilities.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with surgical trauma procedures.
Prior autonomous APP practice in a trauma or critical care setting.
Knowledge of hospital documentation systems and EMRs.
Bilingual capabilities or additional language skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies.
Minimum of two years’ experience in trauma, emergency, or critical care.
Prior work in Level I trauma centers is highly advantageous.
Other Requirements:
In-house coverage with no call responsibilities.
Responding to trauma alerts, assisting in ED consults, and performing necessary trauma procedures.
Ability to work independently with supervision from trauma surgeons present 24/7.
Travel or mileage reimbursement is available for local providers.
This role requires adherence to non-clinical guidelines for tracking patient care and procedures.
Credentialing costs and application fees are not reimbursed.
