Are you a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for providing high-quality care? We are looking for experienced General Medicine providers to perform vital Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across the country, with options to work in your own office or at a VES facility.
In this role, you will conduct interview-based assessments with some physical exam components, including range of motion and muscle strength testing. No prescribing or treatment is involved, making this an excellent opportunity for those with a background in general medicine or experience in compensation and pension evaluations. You will be vital in helping Veterans receive the assessments they deserve in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Key responsibilities and features include:
Conducting one-time non-treatment exams and health assessments for Veterans
Flexible scheduling: half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts
Quick credentialing and onboarding process
All exams are primarily interview-based with some physical assessment components
No treatment or prescribing required
Work with Veterans in a manner that supports their well-being and health
Required Skills:
Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas or applicable state
Proven experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or related fields
Strong interview and assessment skills
Ability to perform physical assessments such as range of motion tests and muscle strength evaluations
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with compensation and pension evaluations or military-related assessments
Certification in occupational or physical assessment techniques
Experience working independently in a private office setting
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in general medicine or related areas
Prior experience in a military or VA environment is a plus
Other Requirements:
Provider must have own medical office within 50 miles of designated locations or be willing to work at a VES facility if nearby
Local candidates preferred; travel expenses are included in rates
Ability to complete administrative follow-up tasks such as report submission and addendums
Must be able to start on or after March 6, 2026
This position offers highly competitive pay at $600 for half-day shifts and $1200 for full-day shifts, with a one-time bonus of $650 upon completing initial training and your first exams. Benefits include weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical coverage, paid sick time, licensure and certification reimbursements where applicable, and participation in our robust referral bonus program.
