What You’ll Need to Succeed
• Valid Nurse Practitioner license with specialization in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedics, or related general medicine fields.
• Proven experience performing compensation and pension exams, separation health assessments, or similar interview-based evaluations.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly gather and document medical information.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to adhere to regulatory and procedural standards.
• Ability to work independently while managing your schedule effectively.
Nice to Have Skills
• Prior experience working with Veterans or in government healthcare settings.
• Knowledge of VA benefits processes and related documentation.
• Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations.
Preferred Education and Experience
• Master’s degree or higher in Nursing.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in general medicine or evaluations related to compensation and pension.
• Familiarity with telehealth or remote assessment protocols is a plus.
Other Requirements
• Own office within 50 miles of the designated city, or willingness to conduct evaluations at a VES facility if within proximity.
• Availability for scheduled assessments on a PRN and ongoing basis, including partial or full days.
• Completion of all required training and credentialing prior to performing exams; a one-time bonus of $650 offered upon initial exam performance.
• Ability to perform interview-based assessments and physical examinations such as range of motion and muscle strength testing; no prescribing or treatment involved.
• Travel expenses are included in the rates for local providers.
