Join Our Team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner – General Medicine in Houston, TX
Are you an experienced Nurse Practitioner with a passion for delivering high-quality care and serving our nation's Veterans? We are seeking dedicated General Medicine Providers to join our team on a temporary basis, offering flexible scheduling and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. This role is vital in conducting Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments across various locations, supporting Veterans' health and benefits.
Requirements Skills:
Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas
Proven experience in general medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, or orthopedic surgery
Exceptional interviewing and assessment skills
Ability to perform interview-based exams with physical assessment components, such as range of motion and muscle strength testing
Strong communication and documentation skills
Comfortable working independently and adhering to strict schedules
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience with Compensation & Pension examinations
Familiarity with Veterans' healthcare requirements
Certification or experience in physical assessments or disability evaluations
Proficiency with telehealth platforms and electronic health records
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing (MSN, DNP)
Minimum 2 years of clinical practice in general or internal medicine
Experience providing assessments for Veterans or in a government healthcare setting is advantageous
Other Requirements:
Must own or have access to a suitable private office within 50 miles of your designated location (Gassaway, WV or Nutter Fort, WV)
Ability to work on a PRN basis, including ½ or full-day shifts
Willingness to perform one-time non-treatment exams and follow-up administrative work (addendums, reports)
Current state licensure and certifications
Reliable internet and computer setup for credentialing and reporting
No travel expenses reimbursed outside of compensation rates; certifications and portal training costs are not covered
Compensation:
Hourly rate: $402.00
Flat rate for half-day (4 hours or less): $600
Flat rate for full day (5 hours or more): $1,200
One-time bonus of $650 upon training completion and first exams
