Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to work independently within our Urgent Care setting. In this role, you will manage episodic care and injury treatments across adolescent, child, adult, and geriatric demographics. Your expertise will help ensure timely, effective care in a supportive environment where supervising physicians are available via phone to provide guidance. This position offers the flexibility of ongoing assignments, making it ideal for practitioners seeking diverse clinical experiences.
Required Skills:
Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
Proven experience in Urgent Care and Occupational Health settings
Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
Proficient in using EMR systems, specifically Anthem
Strong clinical assessment and patient management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to handle a high-volume patient flow efficiently
Nice to Have Skills:
Previous experience with injury treatments and episodic care
Familiarity with occupational health documentation protocols
Bilingual skills are a plus, though not required
Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
Preferred Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree or higher in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
Minimum of 2 years of recent Urgent Care or Emergency Department experience
Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) or equivalent
Other Requirements:
Must be able to travel locally; mileage reimbursed at IRS standard rate for local providers only
Availability to start as soon as possible; ongoing coverage needs
Ability to work flexible hours based on clinic needs
Valid CPR and BLS certification
