Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company dedicated to serving our nation's veterans, is seeking skilled and dedicated Locum Nurse Practitioners specializing in General Medicine to perform Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments. Required Skills:
Validist Nurse Practitioner license in Kentucky (KY)
Experience in general medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, or orthopedics
Ability to perform interview-based exams with some physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength testing)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills with the ability to document findings clearly and accurately
Ability to work independently at your own office location within a 50-mile radius of Paducah, KY
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience in compensation and pension examinations or military health assessments
Familiarity with medical reporting and documentation requirements for federal evaluations
Background in conducting medical assessments with minimal supervision
Certification in medical or healthcare-related credentials relevant to general medicine
Preferred Education and Experience:
Nurse Practitioner license in Kentucky
At least 1 year of clinical experience in general medicine or related specialties
Prior experience with compensations or assessments for government or military services is advantageous but not mandatory
Other Requirements:
Own office location within a 50-mile radius of Paducah, KY, to conduct exams
Willingness to work PRN (as needed), including half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts
No prescribing or treatment responsibilities; exams are interview-based with minimal physical assessments
Quick onboarding and credentialing process
Participation in required training and completion of initial exams are necessary to receive bonuses
Local candidates only; travel costs are included in the pay rates
Competitive hourly rates:
Half-day (up to 4 hours): $600 flat rate
Full-day (5 hours or more): $1200 flat rate
One-time bonus of $650 for completing all training requirements and initial exams
Pay includes travel and administrative reimbursements where applicable
