Locum - NP/PA - Trauma Surgery Atlantic City, NJ

Join a dynamic trauma and acute care surgical team as a Locum Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to provide critical care coverage during a busy period, ensuring exceptional patient outcomes in a high-volume Level II trauma setting. Overview
We are seeking a dedicated NP or PA with trauma and surgical experience to fill a temporary position from March 24, 2026, through October. The provider will be integral in managing trauma alerts, assisting with surgeries, and supporting inpatient care at a renowned medical center. This role is perfect for clinicians eager to apply their skills in a hospital-based environment, ensuring seamless trauma operations without formal call responsibilities but with the flexibility to cover weekends and nights as scheduled.

Required Skills
  • Valid NP or PA license in New Jersey (or eligible)
  • Prior experience in trauma or acute care surgery
  • Proficiency in trauma alerts, surgical consultations, and inpatient management
  • Ability to manage invasive procedures such as central lines, chest tubes, and ventilatory support
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with Cerner EMR system

Nice to Have Skills
  • RNFA certification or surgical fellowship trained NP/PA
  • Experience with rapid response teams and house codes
  • Knowledge of pediatric trauma care
  • BLS/ACLS certification

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in trauma, emergency, or surgical care settings
  • Prior locum or temporary coverage experience preferred

Other Requirements
  • Local candidate preferred; mileage reimbursement available for qualifying providers
  • No need to obtain New Jersey licensure for this assignment as licensed providers are preferred
  • Ability to start immediately and commit through October 2026
  • Certifications in BLS and ACLS required
