Job Description
Exciting Opportunity: NICU Registered Nurse
Join our dedicated healthcare team as a NICU Registered Nurse and make a vital difference in the lives of the most vulnerable newborns. In this role, you will provide expert neonatal care in a dynamic, high-acuity environment, supporting families through precious moments and complex medical needs. Your expertise will ensure that each fragile patient receives the highest standard of care, all while contributing to a compassionate and collaborative team.
Required Skills:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Level III NICU setting
Experienced in delivery attendance including vaginal and cesarean sections
Proficient in neonatal procedures such as IV placement, labs, ventilator management, and medication administration
Epic EMR system proficiency
Strong patient advocacy, empathy, and customer service skills
Ability to manage ventilators, central lines, and advanced neonatal interventions
Skilled in assisting with procedures like chest tubes, PICC, UAC, UVC placement, intubation, and diagnostic imaging
BLS and NRP certifications are mandatory
Capable of floating to NOU with ratios of 1:4-6 and to the normal newborn nursery as needed
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with ultrasound, echocardiograms, EEGs, and nitric oxide therapy
Familiarity with pediatric patient education and breastfeeding support
Previous experience with self-scheduling and flexible shifts
Preferred Education and Experience:
Registered Nurse with a valid state licensure
Prior experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced NICU environment
Demonstrated competence in managing neonatal ventilators, central lines, and complex medication protocols
Other Requirements:
Availability to work every other weekend and major/minor holidays (at least 1 major and 1 minor holiday)
Night shift commitment: 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
Self-scheduling flexibility
Willingness to float to NICU and normal newborn nursery units
Valid certifications in BLS & NRP
Must have delivery attendance experience and current NICU competency
