Join Our Team as a Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse – Make a Difference in Patient Care!
Are you a dedicated Registered Nurse seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity in a dynamic oncology setting? We are seeking passionate and experienced Medical Surgical Oncology RNs to join our team, providing expert care to patients with complex hematologic and oncologic conditions. This position offers a vital role in delivering exceptional patient-centered care, supporting recovery, and improving outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients diagnosed with lymphoma, multiple myeloma, leukemias, sickle cell disease, and other hematologic or non-hematologic cancers.
Administer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin and heparin drips, and manage oncologic emergencies.
Monitor and interpret telemetry data, including dysrhythmias, and utilize rapid response teams efficiently.
Manage central lines, PICC lines, and perform blood draws and IV therapy.
Ensure infection prevention protocols and patient safety measures are strictly followed.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in patient education and discharge planning.
Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC electronic charting.
Required Skills:
Current RN license
Proficiency in MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation
Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, and central line management
Strong knowledge of oncologic procedures and emergency protocols
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and adapt to rotating shift schedules
Nice to Have Skills:
Hematology/Oncology experience
ONS certification
Experience with self-scheduling and floating to other Med/Surg units
Knowledge of infection control and patient fall prevention strategies
Preferred Education and Experience:
Graduate of accredited nursing program
At least 1-2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience
Oncology experience is highly valued but not mandatory
Other Requirements:
Valid BLS and ACLS certifications
Experience with Epic electronic health records
Flexible scheduling with rotating day/night shifts
Ability to work variable shifts including weekends as needed
Willingness to float across Med/Surg and Oncology units
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive pay rate of $59.18/hour
