What You’ll Do:
Provide patient care across MedSurg and Emergency Department settings, including triage and stabilization
Float between MedSurg and ER, adapting to patient needs as assigned
Collaborate with a team of 2 nurses, 1 CNA, and 1 staff secretary during shifts
Maintain patient safety, documentation, and compliance with hospital protocols
Follow all applicable state and federal regulations, including AHA standards for certifications
Work within a typical nurse-to-patient ratio around 1:3 to 5:1 depending on acuity
Use Athena EMR to document patient care activities
What You Need:
Valid Kansas or multistate RN license
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications (AHA)
Preferably 1+ years of RN experience, including MedSurg or ER
Ability to float to ER and MedSurg units as needed
Strong clinical skills, flexibility, and excellent communication
About the Assignment:
This is an exciting opportunity at a leading healthcare facility in Goodland, Kansas. The unit is a Critical Access Hospital (CAH), requiring RNs to work both in the MedSurg and ER departments, depending on patient load and hospital needs. Shifts are variable, with a supportive team environment, and opportunities for first-time travel nurses or those with less than three years’ experience are considered.
