What You’ll Do:
As a Med Surg RN, you'll be vital in managing a diverse patient population, demonstrating your assessment and critical thinking skills daily. Your responsibilities include medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, patient education, and seamless coordination during admissions and discharges. You will thrive in an environment that values teamwork, communication, and meticulous documentation, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Flexibility for float assignments to skilled nursing and OB units will enrich your experience.
Required Skills:
Valid RN license in good standing
Strong assessment and critical thinking abilities
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Proficiency in medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care
Ability to recognize and respond to patient condition changes timely
Efficient documentation skills
Nice to Have Skills:
Previous Med Surg experience
Certified in IV therapy, ACLS, PALS, or BLS
Experience with patient admissions, discharges, and education
Ability to float seamlessly between units such as Skilled Nursing and OB
Preferred Education and Experience:
New graduates welcome; zero experience candidates start at $27.75/hour with growth potential with experience
BSN preferred but not required, with higher pay for BSN holders at $29.25/hour
Prior hospital-based Med Surg experience is a plus
Other Requirements:
Must obtain BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications within 6 months of hire (training available through SWMC)
Willingness to work 12-hour rotating shifts (day/night), every other weekend and holiday
Relocation bonus up to $2,500 with receipts required
Minimal jewelry and adherence to dress code policies including face/body piercings
Certification in IV therapy preferred
