What You’ll Bring:
  • Proven expertise in Medical Oncology with comfort in inpatient management of malignant and benign cases, as well as hematology consults
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise Advanced Practice Providers and guide the oncology team
  • Excellent clinical judgment and ability to manage 20-25 patients daily, including new consults and inpatient care
  • Proficiency with special procedures related to oncology
  • Experience with hospital privileges at United Hospital, Abbott Northwestern, and Mercy Hospital preferred
  • Board certification in Oncology and Hematology is required
  • Current Minnesota medical license or IMLC licensure

Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Prior leadership or mentorship experience
  • Familiarity with outpatient and inpatient documentation standards
  • Experience with hospital-based multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to participate in quality improvement initiatives

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Active board certification in Medical Oncology and Hematology
  • Minimum 3-5 years of clinical experience in oncology practice, including inpatient management
  • Prior hospital privileges at the specified facilities preferred

Other Requirements:
  • License/Certification: Minnesota medical license or IMLC preferred; required licensure for clinical practice
  • Credentialing timeline approximately 90 days
  • Availability for flexible schedule including overnight calls from home (Monday 8am to following Monday 8am)
  • Willingness to participate in hospital privileges at United Hospital, Abbott Northwestern, and Mercy Hospital
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care within hospital inpatient service
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment
