Required Skills:
Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar clinical support role
Ability to accurately measure and record vital signs and patient medical histories
Proficiency in preparing patients for procedures and assisting healthcare providers with specimen collection and preparation
Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare protocols
Strong communication skills for patient education and provider assistance
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems
Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
Bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish or other languages
Previous experience in a float or coverage role across multiple clinics
Preferred Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary medical assisting certification preferred
Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical support experience in a healthcare setting
Other Requirements:
Flexibility to work days and adapt to floating assignments across different clinics
Current CPR and first aid certifications
Valid state licensing or certifications as required
Willingness to travel within the Sault St. Marie area as needed
Ability to lift and move medical supplies or equipment as necessary
