Required Skills:
Current New York State CNA certification
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
At least one year of patient care experience
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to perform direct and indirect nursing care, including vital signs, toileting, bathing, and feeding
Strong understanding of normal growth and development
Proven ability to respond to changing patient needs
Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
Effective collaboration and communication with healthcare team members
Professionalism and ethical decision-making
Ability to work during 12-hour shifts
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience working as a safety companion
Knowledge of infection control and safety protocols
Bilingual abilities to better serve diverse patient populations
Prior experience in a Med/Surg unit
Preferred Education and Experience:
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in New York State
Minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience in a hospital setting
Other Requirements:
Availability to work 12-hour shifts
Successful pass of pre-employment health clearance
Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives
No travel commitments required; local practice preferred
