What You'll Do:
Float to various Oncology Medical-Surgical units as needed, ensuring seamless patient care.
Administer treatments and medications to patients with active oncology diagnoses, including solid tumors and hematology conditions.
Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry, manage dysrhythmias, and assist with emergency response.
Assist with IV therapy, blood product administration, and line management (PICC, peripheral, central).
Support patients undergoing complex procedures such as hemodialysis, respiratory support, and ventilator management.
Document patient care accurately using the EPIC system.
Maintain safety protocols within a secure correctional environment, supporting inmate health and staff safety.
What You Need:
Required: Ohio RN license, BLS certification, EPIC charting experience, at least 1 year of Med-Surg/Tele experience
Preferred: Oncology experience, experience in correctional healthcare, IV therapy, telemetry training, and familiarity with high-acuity care concepts
About the Assignment:
This role is based in a secure correctional unit operated by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections, serving inmates with diverse healthcare needs including oncology, surgical, and medical conditions. The unit features controlled access and a multidisciplinary team supporting optimal patient outcomes. Shifts may vary based on staffing needs, and assignments will be reviewed every 4 weeks, offering flexibility and opportunity for a dynamic nursing environment.
