Join Our Team as an MS/Tele Registered Nurse – Night Shift!

We are seeking a skilled MS/Tele Registered Nurse to provide exceptional patient care in a secure corrections setting within the James Corrections Health Unit. This is an outstanding opportunity to utilize your oncology experience and EPIC charting expertise while working night shifts on a dynamic and critical unit.
In this vital role, you will float across various Oncology Medical-Surgical units, ensuring the safety and well-being of a diverse patient population. Your expertise will support patients with active oncology diagnoses, complex surgical histories, and other non-oncology conditions, all within a controlled correctional environment. Your role is integral to delivering high-quality care in a setting that demands precision, compassion, and resilience.
Required Skills:
Current RN licensure in good standing.
Minimum of 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience.
Proficiency in EPIC charting system.
BLS certification is mandatory.
Ability to interpret cardiac telemetry, manage IV therapies, and handle emergency responses effectively.
Experience with complex patient management, including oncology-related care, respiratory support (CPAP/BIPAP, HFNC), and renal/hemodialysis procedures.
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience working in correctional health or similar secured environments.
Oncology certification or additional specialty training.
Familiarity with Pyxis medication system and related medical devices.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree preferred.
At least 2 years of recent acute care or medical-surgical experience, ideally with oncology background.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to work night shifts (19:00 – 07:30).
Ability to work in a locked correctional unit environment with controlled access.
Valid CPR/BLS certification required.
Flexibility to float between different units as needed.
Must pass background check and any additional security clearance protocols.
