Duration: Ongoing with tentative dates
Shift: 24-hour call shifts for OB/GYN ED (no clinic/office patients; response within 20 minutes)
Hours/week: Variable with callback hours approximately 5-7 hours
Employment Type: Locum Tenens
Licensure/Certifications: Active California medical license, board certification in OB/GYN required
Experience: Full scope OB/GYN with emergency procedures (deliveries, gynecological surgeries)
Pay & Benefits
Flat on-call rate: $5,000–$6,000 per day; holiday call rate: $7,500–$9,000
Additional pay: Malpractice included, support staff provided
Benefits: Comprehensive medical coverage (W-2), weekly pay via direct deposit, paid sick leave, licensure, certification, travel, and lodging reimbursements, and a robust referral bonus program
What You'll Do
Provide full scope OB/GYN care including deliveries (vaginal and cesarean) and gynecological surgeries
Manage OB/GYN emergency cases and perform necessary procedures
Support inpatient and outpatient services as required
Respond promptly to on-call emergencies within a 20-minute window
Collaborate with dedicated medical support staff and support the hospital’s OB/GYN department
What You Need
Active California medical license with unrestricted privileges
Board certification in OB/GYN or eligible for licensure
Minimum 2+ years of OB/GYN experience with full procedural scope
Ability to handle high-volume OB/GYN cases (up to 20 patients/day)
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
