Quick Facts:
  • Location: Houston, TX
  • Start Date: 09/01/2026
  • End Date: 07/31/2027
  • Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM / 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM / 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (must commit to 14 shifts/month minimum)
  • Hours/week: 35–40 hours
  • Employment Type: Contract (1099)
  • License/Certifications: Unrestricted CRNA license, ACLS, BLS, DEA, Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesia, Graduate from accredited RN program (CCNE or AACN)
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of clinical anesthesia practice

Pay & Benefits:
  • Hourly Rate: $220.00/hour (all-inclusive)

What You’ll Do:
  • Provide onsite anesthesia services for a broad range of surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, plastic, ENT, urologic, podiatric, vascular, gynecologic, endoscopy, dental/oral, and ophthalmologic surgeries
  • Ensure anesthesia care meets or exceeds standards established by ASA guidelines
  • Collaborate with surgical teams and support staff to deliver safe, timely anesthesia care
  • Complete patient consultations and documentation in accordance with VA and facility policies
  • Maintain timely communication with the Contract Officer Representative (COR) and meet performance standards
  • Participate in preoperative and postoperative patient management as needed

What You Need:
  • Valid unrestricted CRNA license in Texas or willing to obtain
  • Minimum two years of anesthesia experience in a clinical setting
  • Current ACLS, BLS, DEA certifications
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and adhere to protocol

About the Assignment:
This assignment offers the chance to work within a state-of-the-art surgical unit at a prominent facility in Houston, providing anesthesia care to Department of Veterans Affairs beneficiaries. The provider will be integral in maintaining high standards of safety and quality in perioperative anesthesia services across a diverse patient population. Flexibility in scheduling allows for a balanced work-life experience, with the opportunity to start once credentialed and provide coverage for approximately two weeks per month.
