Are you a dedicated orthopedic surgeon seeking an engaging temporary opportunity to provide critical surgical care in a vibrant hospital setting? We are looking for a skilled Locum Physician specializing in Orthopedic Surgery to support our partner facility in Tacoma, Washington. This pivotal role involves covering essential trauma and outpatient services at a renowned Level II Trauma Center, contributing directly to improved patient outcomes in a dynamic environment. Required Skills:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Level II Trauma settings
  • Proficiency in the full spectrum of orthopedic procedures, excluding complex pelvic surgeries
  • Ability to manage a variety of trauma cases and outpatient clinics
  • Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced hospital and outpatient environments
  • WA medical license (or eligible for licensing for upcoming dates)

Nice to Have Skills:
  • Trauma fellowship training or relevant trauma experience
  • Experience with Epic EMR systems
  • Prior outpatient orthopedic practice experience
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Active medical license in Washington State
  • At least 5 years of orthopedic trauma experience in a Level II or higher facility
  • Previous locum or temporary assignment experience preferred

Other Requirements:
  • Availability for 2 weeks per month, including specific scheduled dates starting from December 25, 2025, through mid-August 2026
  • Willingness to obtain or hold current WA medical license
  • Ability to work 24-hour shifts, including on-call responsibilities
  • Commitment to providing quality patient care in a hospital and outpatient setting
  • Must adhere to credentialing timelines, approximately 60-90 days

Compensation:
  • Hourly Rate: $18.72
  • Shift Type: 24-Hour shifts with comprehensive coverage and support
  • Additional pay include orientation, holiday, nightly, on-call, callback, and holiday callback rates, in accordance with hospital policies
