Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Surgery - Cardiothoracic in Springfield, OH and Make a Difference in Patient Care
Are you a skilled Cardiothoracic Surgeon seeking a rewarding locum opportunity? Bon Secours Mercy Health Springfield Regional Medical Center is looking for a dedicated and experienced physician to provide exceptional call coverage in a busy, full-service acute care hospital. In this role, you will perform a range of adult CV, thoracic, and vascular surgeries, including coronary artery bypass, valve repairs/replacements, aneurysm repairs, lung resections, and more. You will work alongside a dedicated team in a facility equipped with modern labs, x-ray services, and an integrated EPIC documentation system, supporting high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will possess strong surgical skills in general CV, thoracic, and vascular procedures, with the ability to manage complex cases and emergency situations effectively. Your expertise in ventilation management, bronchoscopy, and evaluation of acute volume and blood pressure issues will be valuable assets to our team.
Required Skills:
Proven experience in general CV, thoracic, and vascular surgeries
Proficiency in coronary artery bypass, valvular repairs, aneurysm repairs, lung resections, and chest procedures
Ability to perform endarterectomy (carotid & renal), ventilation management, and bronchoscopy
Strong assessment and management skills for acute volume and BP issues
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently and reliably under patient care protocols
Nice to Have Skills:
Experience in congenital defect surgeries
Prior familiarity with EPIC or similar EMR systems
Capable of managing multiple cases efficiently in a high-pressure environment
Preferred Education and Experience:
M.D. or D.O. degree with board certification or eligibility in Cardiothoracic Surgery
At least 3 years of post-residency experience in cardiothoracic surgery
Active state medical license or the ability to obtain one in Ohio
Other Requirements:
Availability for scheduled call coverage during specified periods
No travel required for this locum position
Valid medical license and any necessary certifications
Ability to start on the specified dates with flexibility for coverage needs
This opportunity offers an hourly pay rate of $19.50, with weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical benefits (W-2), paid sick leave, and reimbursements for licensure, certification, travel, and other applicable expenses.
