Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Sleep Medicine in Pittsfield, MA
Are you a dedicated and Board-Certified Sleep Medicine Physician looking to make a difference while enjoying flexible scheduling? Berkshire Medical Center is seeking a skilled locum tenens physician to provide outpatient sleep medicine coverage from December 1, 2025, through June 1, 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vibrant healthcare team in a community-oriented setting while maintaining your professional growth.
In this role, you will provide high-quality outpatient sleep disorder assessments and management in a supportive environment. You will work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., serving a patient population consisting mainly of adults, with some pediatric cases. You will manage approximately 10-13 patients per day, covering a broad spectrum of sleep-related conditions, including obstructive and central sleep apnea, insomnia, narcolepsy, parasomnias, and more.
Required Skills
Board certification in Sleep Medicine, American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) recognized, or Neurology with Sleep Medicine training
Valid medical license in the state of practice (ability to obtain)
BLS certification
Proven experience in outpatient sleep medicine settings
Excellent clinical assessment and patient management skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Nice to Have Skills
Experience with home sleep studies and in-lab testing
Familiarity with Meditech EMR system
Knowledge of Sleep Disorder treatments such as CPAP therapy
Ability to contribute to multidisciplinary team efforts
Preferred Education and Experience
Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
At least 2 years of relevant sleep medicine practice post-certification
Prior experience in outpatient sleep clinics
Other Requirements
Flexibility to obtain state licensure if necessary
Willingness to travel for covering shifts as needed
Comfortable working with a team supported by a skilled ancillary staff, including sleep technicians, nurses, and administrative personnel
