As a Locum Physician in General Medicine, you will perform important Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, contributing directly to our nation's Veteran care. Overview:
We are seeking experienced General Medicine Physicians to support Veterans Evaluation Services (VES), a Maximus company, in delivering high-quality assessments nationwide. This role offers the chance to work on a PRN basis, performing interview-based exams and physical assessments in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Whether working from your own office or at VES locations, you'll help ensure our Veterans receive the care and evaluation they deserve. Required Skills:
Medical license in Washington State
Board-certified or board-eligible in family medicine, internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, or related general medicine field
Experience with or willingness to perform Compensation & Pension exams and health assessments
Strong interview skills and physical assessment abilities, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience in VA or military-related healthcare settings
Familiarity with military or veteran health assessments
Proficiency with medical documentation and electronic health records systems
Ability to perform assessments efficiently without compromising quality
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
At least 1-3 years of clinical practice in general medicine or related specialties
Prior experience performing compensation and pension examinations is advantageous but not required
Other Requirements:
Must have own qualifying office space if working independently; VES locations require candidates to be within 30 miles of specified areas
Willingness to travel locally as needed; travel costs included in pay rates for local candidates
Completion of required training and certifications (training bonus available upon completion)
Commitment to completing follow-up administrative work such as reports and addendums, aligned with daily or half-day shifts
No prescribing or treatment responsibilities; exams primarily interview-based with limited physical assessments

Hourly Pay Rate:
Half-day (4 hours or less): $800 flat rate
Full-day (5 hours or more): $1,600 flat rate
One-time training and first exam performance bonus: $650
