Are you a dedicated and experienced general medicine specialist looking for flexible, impactful opportunities? We are seeking a highly qualified Locum Physician to provide essential healthcare services across various locations. In this pivotal role, you will conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments, supporting our nation's veterans through concise, interview-based evaluations and limited physical assessments. Your expertise will help ensure our veterans receive the benefits and care they deserve, all within a structured, professional environment.
Required Skills:
Medical degree (MD or DO) with active state medical license
Certified or eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related fields
Proven experience in general medicine or compensation and pension evaluations
Strong interviewing skills and physical assessment capabilities, including range of motion and muscle strength testing
Excellent communication and professionalism
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting
Nice to Have Skills:
Prior experience performing VA compensation & pension exams
Knowledge of veteran healthcare requirements and policies
Certification in specific medical assessments or related specialties
Familiarity with telehealth or remote evaluation processes
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years' experience in general medicine or related fields
Prior experience with VA or government-sponsored assessments is advantageous
Other Requirements:
Candidates must reside within 50 miles of designated locations or have their own office if required
Willingness to work on a PRN basis with flexible hours, including half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) shifts
Ability to complete exams, submit comprehensive reports, and perform follow-up administrative work
Local candidates only; travel costs are included in rates
No prescribing or treatment responsibilities; exams are interview-based with minimal physical assessments
