Join Our Dynamic Gastroenterology Team as a Locum Physician in Lakewood, CO

We are currently seeking a dedicated Locum Physician specializing in Gastroenterology to provide essential coverage at a Level 1 Trauma hospital in Lakewood, Colorado. In this role, you will perform a range of procedures including ERCP, EUS, Endoscopy, and GI Bleed evaluations. The position involves inpatient responsibilities with a focus on adult, geriatric, and select adolescent patients, supporting critical trauma and emergent cases. Your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes in a fast-paced, supportive environment.
Required Skills:
Valid medical license to practice in Colorado or eligible for IMLC
Board-certified or eligible in Gastroenterology
Proficient in ERCP, EUS, Endoscopy, and GI bleeding management
Experience with Epic EMR system
Ability to work independently with minimal support staff
Strong clinical decision-making skills and excellent communication
Nice to Have Skills:
Previous experience working in Level 1 Trauma centers
Experience with outpatient and inpatient Gastroenterology procedures
Knowledge of hospital trauma protocols and emergency procedures
Bilingual proficiency is a plus
Preferred Education and Experience:
Medical degree (MD or DO)
Minimum of 2 years post-training clinical experience in Gastroenterology
Proven track record in high-volume procedure settings
Other Requirements:
Ability to commit to 5-7 shifts per month, including overnight and holiday coverage
Willingness to stay at designated preferred lodging options
Completion of EMR training and credentialing within 60-90 days
Participation in virtual EMR training sessions at least one week prior to first shift
Travel arrangements aligned with hospital policies; local drive-in candidates preferred
