Join Our Team as a Locum Physician in Emergency Medicine – Pomeroy, OH
Are you an experienced Emergency Medicine physician seeking a dynamic locum opportunity that offers flexible scheduling and competitive compensation? Our facility is committed to delivering exceptional emergency services, and we are looking for dedicated providers to join us on a night and weekend shift basis, starting December 8, 2025.
In this pivotal role, you will oversee urgent and emergent patient care, manage emergency procedures, and support our dedicated team. Your expertise will ensure that patients receive timely and effective treatment, contributing to improved health outcomes in the community. Ideal candidates will bring a strong sense of professionalism, clinical competency, and a passion for community healthcare.
Required Skills:
Active medical license in Ohio
Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, IM, or FM with ABMS or AOA certification
ACLS, ATLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
Proven experience in emergency department settings
Ability to manage trauma codes and perform critical procedures
Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making skills
Strong documentation skills
Nice to Have Skills:
Previous experience working in free-standing EDs
Familiarity with transfer protocols and trauma management
Prior coverage of night and weekend shifts
Preferred Education and Experience:
MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of 2 years of emergency medicine or urgent care experience
Prior locum or temporary staffing experience preferred
Other Requirements:
Availability for at least 5 shifts per month, ideally 8-10 shifts
Must be available to start as soon as credentialed (anticipated 45-60 days)
Travel arrangements to be coordinated by OVP; no overtime will be approved
Must be comfortable managing documentation independently; no admissions handled directly at Meigs ED
